2B, 2D and BA Cold Rolled FinishesWhat Are Cold Rolled finishes?
Stainless steel sheets are normally available in cold rolled form in thickness upto 6mm, but can also be made available in hot rolled form (3mm to 6mm) if required. We have in house facilities to process cold rolled stainless steel sheets (2B finish) to Matte finish, Hair Line Finish, Mirror Finish and other finishes on request from our customers.
2B Finish Cold Rolled, Annealed, Pickled & Skin Passed. Another cold rolled stainless steel where the process is similar to producing 2D. The difference is that there is an extra step in producing 2B stainless steel surface. That step is rolling it one final time with highly polished rolls known as bright rolls.
No. 2B finish is defined as a bright, cold rolled finish resulting in the same manner as No. 2D finish, except that the annealed and descaled sheet receives a final light roll pass through polished rolls. This is the general purpose cold rolled finish that can be used as is, or as a preliminary step to polishing.

2b Ba Finish Hot Cold Rolled Stainless Steel Coil
2B is a smooth, moderately reflective cold rolled finish commonly produced in the same manner as 2D, except that the final light cold rolling pass is done by using polished rolls. 2B is the most economical and widely used stainless steel finish.
Bright Annealed Finish2RCold rolled, bright annealed finish, retained by final annealing in a controlled atmosphere furnace (may be skin passed). Smooth, bright, reflective finish. BE Columbus 2B cold rolled, but final anneal in a controlled atmosphere furnace. TRTR2HFinish obtained by Cold Rolled, annealed pickled and Temper Rolled.

304 stainless steel 2B finish is a mill finish, which is smooth and NOT the brushed finish commonly seen on kitchen appliances. 304 stainless steel 2B finish is light gray in color. 304 stainless steel 2B finish may or may not have a protective film on one side to prevent scratching.

The starting material for Cold Rolling always has a No. 1 finish. Cold Rolled material is supplied with the following standard mill finishes. No 2D Finish A no. 1 Finish after being Cold Rolled, Annealed, Pickled and Passivated. This results in a uniform dull matt finish, superior to a No. 1 Finish.
